Terminal Unit Controls

Krueger offers a wide variety of control options to meet various applications. These include Factory Mounted Provided by Others, Digital Standalone, Digital BACnet, Analog Standalone, and Pneumatic controls.

  • Factory Mounted Provided by Others – This popular option allows for controls to be purchased by others and then shipped to Krueger to be factory mounted and wired on Krueger terminal units. This option saves a significant amount of time and labor compared to installing the controls in the field. In this application, Krueger uses common control manufacturers and wiring diagrams. A Krueger wiring diagram must be approved by the projects control contractor or engineer. Please email KruegerInfo@Krueger-HVAC.com if a specific control manufacturer or wiring diagram cannot be found.
  • Digital BACnet (Smart Equipment Controls) – This control option utilizes a Krueger provided digital controller/actuator to perform the logic and actions of preprogrammed control sequences that are based on the type of terminal unit selected. These controls can communicate with various Johnson Controls zone sensors and temperature probes in the ductwork. These controls are also BACnet compatible, meaning they can communicate seamlessly with other BACnet devices and Building Management Systems.
  • Digital Standalone (Smart Equipment Controls) – This control option utilizes a Krueger provided digital controller/actuator to perform the logic and actions of preprogrammed control sequences that are based on the type of terminal unit selected. These controls are standalone devices and cannot communicate with other equipment in the building besides the Johnson Controls zone sensor.
  • Analog – These controls utilize a Krueger provided controller/actuator that receives analog inputs and outputs from a Krueger room thermostat to provide basic control operation for various terminal units. Functionality of these control sequences are limited, but effective for small buildings that do not use a Building Management System.
  • Pneumatic – These controls are still used in some older buildings today. Krueger provides a pneumatic control offering to help simplify coordination and installation of terminal units in retrofit or direct replacement projects. Krueger provided pneumatic controllers and actuators are powered by a centralized pneumatic system and perform basic control sequence functions based on pneumatic pressure signals received from pneumatic room thermostats.
